To also add another layer of incompetence, the elevators in the tower we stayed at in the hotel continuously broke down, one completely non-operational the entire stay (there were only two). The second time was at 10:00am and they could not admit anymore parties in the restaurant because they were short staffed, the entire half of the dining room was empty. The buffet restaurant in the morning turned us away twice, the first time that they are only open for breakfast until 10:30am and in the rooms and at the front desk of the hotel, it says 11:00am. For the price you have to pay to stay there, it was very unsatisfactory. Any person we spoke to was either rude, unaccommodating, or flat out apathetic. The staff, and I do mean all of the staff, was seemingly unwilling to help at any point during our stay. Possibly one of the worst stays I have ever had anywhere. Downstream is an hour away for us and it’s like a mini vacation for us! It’s beautiful and luxurious and we feel like royalty there. We are excited and are counting the days. Next month we are going again and my sister is going to spend the weekend with us there too in the Suite. We have stayed a lot places, but none as upbeat and clean as this was even during a Pandemic and a staffing deficit. The staff was overworked but still happy to be there! They treated me well knowing I could not walk very far, and still remained friendly and made us laugh. It was a very clean place and even though there were cutbacks due to the pandemic we did not see any effects in service or help availability. The people who unloaded and loaded our car both times were not only friendly but personable. I had the use of two pools and the indoor one was empty! Bonus for us! We sat in an empty Jacuzzi too! I also got a massage while visiting the Casino and they were prompt bringing me a shower chair.
